Kelvin Pho - Standard Competition Team (Thursday Evenings)

Kelvin Pho first began dancing in 2003 at the University of Texas at Austin. After teaching social dancing for two years, he took an interest in competitive International Standard. He has since then specialized in International Standard Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep. He enjoys teaching private lessons, group classes, and competing mixed-proficiency with his students. He received his ISTD International Standard teaching certification in 2006.

Kelvin and his partner Michelle Hsieh-Pho began competing in 2005. After a three-year break from competing, they recently took 3rd place at the 2013 Manhattan Amateur Classic in Adult Pre-Championship Standard. They currently train with Craig Shaw and Evgeniya Sutyaginskaya-Shaw from England.

Travis Herman - Social (Thursday Nights)

Travis was born in Wichta, KS and grew up all over, living in six states by the age of 16! His grandmother encouraged him to study Scottish Highland dancing at age seven as a way to connect to his heritage. After competing in that style for ten years his family landed in Missouri, which lacked these opportunities. Once again influenced by his grandmother, Travis went with her to a Ballroom and Country dance studio where he started taking lessons and soon joined their instructor training program. He has since been teaching and competing, joining Go Dance in 2015. Travis truly believes that dancing is all about momentum and how one manipulates that energy. He loves working with new students and teaching the fundamentals of lead and follow. Travis wants his students to smile every time they come to class and approaches lessons with an easygoing attitude, then "turns up the serious" when he knows that is what will help a student accomplish their goals. He finds it euphoric to see students advancing in their dancing and loves being a part of that process. In addition to dancing, Travis loves to spend time outside kayaking local rivers and lakes, exploring parks, and playing baseball.
